20mm x 14mm raised aluminium expanded mesh with 2mm thickness and 4mm strand depth. Lightweight yet strong, this mesh offers 37% open area and is ideal for walkways, vents, screens, and decorative facades. Rust-resistant and easy to shape, it suits construction, safety, and architectural applications.
Our 20mm x 14mm expanded aluminium mesh is a raised-format mesh with a robust 2mm sheet thickness and 4mm strand depth, designed to deliver strength, durability, and excellent airflow in both structural and aesthetic applications. With an approximate 37% open area, this mesh offers a strong balance between visibility, ventilation, and protection, making it ideal for both heavy-duty and decorative use. The expanded design creates a unique diamond-shaped aperture (20mm x 14mm) that allows materials, air, and light to pass through while still offering solid structural support.
Manufactured from solid aluminium sheet, this mesh is both lightweight and corrosion-resistant, providing long-term reliability in indoor and outdoor environments. At just 3.1 kg per square metre, it is significantly lighter than steel alternatives while still offering excellent rigidity and tensile strength. The raised profile adds grip and texture, which makes it especially popular for anti-slip flooring, stair treads, ramps, and walkways, particularly in areas exposed to wet or industrial conditions.
This mesh is also well suited for use as security screening, sunshading panels, machine guards, fencing, gates, and architectural facades. The aluminium construction makes it easy to cut, shape, and fix in place, while also offering a modern, metallic finish that complements both industrial and commercial designs. The open area ensures sufficient light and airflow, helping regulate temperature and visibility in ventilation or screening systems.
Thanks to its raised structure, the mesh provides additional dimensional strength and rigidity, making it a trusted choice in load-bearing or impact-prone environments. It’s frequently used by fabricators, engineers, and builders who require a strong, rust-free material that performs well with minimal maintenance. It can also be powder-coated or anodised for added surface protection or colour customisation.
