However, these composites can be costly and may lack other beneficial properties of steel, such as resistance to high temperatures.
Compared to Concrete: While concrete excels in compressive strength, it’s weak in tensile strength. Steel, on the other hand, has high compressive and tensile strengths. This complementary nature is why steel and concrete are often used together in reinforced concrete, where steel bars or mesh provide tensile strength.
