Durable #10 woven wire mesh made from mild steel. With a 1.98mm aperture and 61% open area, it’s ideal for guards, vents, panels, and sorting. Strong yet flexible, this mesh suits industrial and workshop use. A cost-effective solution for projects where corrosion resistance is not required.
Our #10 mild steel woven wire mesh is a robust and versatile industrial-grade material designed for general-purpose screening, guarding, and structural applications. With an aperture of 1.98mm and a wire diameter of 0.56mm, this mesh offers a well-balanced structure that provides both strength and openness, resulting in a 61% open area.
Manufactured from plain (uncoated) mild steel, this mesh is ideally suited to applications where cost efficiency, formability, and durability are important, but where corrosion resistance is not a primary concern. It’s frequently used in dry or low-moisture environments, or in situations where the mesh will be painted, galvanised, or otherwise coated after installation.
The #10 mesh specification refers to 10 holes per linear inch, providing a medium-fine filtration or screening size that allows excellent air and material flow. This makes it ideal for grills, panels, machine guards, air vents, drying trays, and architectural detailing. It can also be used in sorting and sizing systems, particularly in agriculture, mining, and quarrying, where strong but open material is needed for processing bulk solids.
Thanks to its 1.57 kg/m² weight, the mesh is heavy enough to retain shape under pressure while still being workable with standard tools. It can be bent, cut, and welded as needed—making it a favourite for custom fabrication work including cages, barriers, frameworks, and enclosure panels.
Wire mesh materials are also available in brass, copper, galvanised steel and blue PVC.
