1/4″ x 1/4″ galvanised welded mesh with 0.61mm wire. Durable and rust-resistant, it’s ideal for pest control, animal cages, guards, and fencing. Strongly welded and easy to cut, this mesh suits both indoor and outdoor use. Perfect for DIY, trade, and agricultural applications.
Our 1/4″ x 1/4″ (6.35mm x 6.35mm) welded wire mesh, made from hot-dipped galvanised steel, is a highly durable and versatile mesh solution for general-purpose screening, guarding, and enclosure applications. With a 0.61mm wire diameter (23 SWG) and a precise square aperture, this mesh offers excellent strength and rigidity while maintaining a clean, uniform appearance. The galvanised finish provides reliable corrosion resistance, making this mesh ideal for both indoor and outdoor use, especially in damp or exposed environments where rust resistance is essential.
This mesh is manufactured using spot welding at every wire intersection, resulting in a strong, rigid grid that won’t unravel, even when cut. The tight 6.35mm x 6.35mm aperture allows for effective containment and protection of small items or animals, making it a go-to material for use in aviaries, rodent barriers, small pet enclosures, and equipment guards. It’s also widely used in gardening, fencing, and industrial safety panels, offering a practical balance between visibility, airflow, and strength.
The lightweight 0.61mm wire ensures the mesh is easy to cut, shape, and install, yet strong enough to maintain structure over time. The hot-dipped galvanising process gives each wire a full zinc coating after welding, protecting all weld points from rust and wear and greatly extending the mesh’s service life. This makes it a popular choice for agricultural, construction, and DIY use where long-term reliability matters.
Common applications include pest control screens, ventilation covers, garden fencing, craftwork, sieve trays, and support mesh in plastering or rendering. It’s also frequently used by engineers, landscapers, and fabricators who need a medium-fine, corrosion-resistant mesh that holds its shape and withstands environmental exposure.
Wire mesh materials are also available in brass, copper, galvanised steel and blue PVC.
